5 (more!) great and cheap places to eat in Lisbon
Where can you eat good and cheap food in Lisbon? This question might be on your mind whether its your first visit or if you are a living in Lisbon on a budget. I already have a list with 10 recommendations (find it here link) but if you already read it and want more here are another 5 places in Lisbon to eat good and affordable.
Panda Cantina
If you want something fast, tasty, and in the center (but don’t mind spicy food) then how about some noodles? Panda Cantina is located near Praca Comerco and has the best ramen noodles in the city. The place is known so expect to queue should you decide to go at noon. Panda Cantina has also since opened more places in the city in Principe Real and Campo Pequeno.
Rua da Prata 252, 1100-052 Lisboa, Portugal
Leonetta
Located in Principe Real, just right next to the Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara, this restaurant serves Italian food for a very good price. With a cool interior and homemade pasta (made by hand!) you wouldn’t believe that you are in Lisbon but rather in a small Osteria in Italy.
R. da Rosa 321, 1200-386 Lisboa, Portugal
Collect – Food. Radio. Records
While this place is mostly known as a bar to have a few drinks at, this place offers also great burgers and fries. They also serve super good veggie burgers with bean patties. If you are a meat-lover they also serve steaks.
Collect has often DJ:s playing in the evenings. I can highly recommend there with some friends to have some drinks. They make very good cocktails as well.
R. Nova do Carvalho 60 62, 1200-371 Lisboa, Portugal
Taberna Sal Grosso
This restaurant serves Portuguese food and is situated right below the Panteão Nacional. They serve typical Portuguese dishes such as grilled octopus and garlic gambas, as well as long-cooked meats and tuna steaks. The food felt like homemade and the dessert was unexpectedly very good; all for an affordable price.
Taberna Sal Grosso is a well hidden secret in Alfama. The unassuming facade easily fools the bypassers. The interior and delicous food make up what it lacks in flash: authenticity.
Calçada do Forte 22, 1100-256 Lisboa, Portugal
The Food Temple
This place is for my vegan readers. The restaurant is located near Martim Moniz next to one of the many stairs leading up the hills of Lisbon. The restaurant offers everything you can think of, from falafel to pea soups and toasts with corn and root vegetables and a set of desserts. The price is relatively cheap compared to the wide range and imaginative dishes they manage to make taste amazing.
