Bars with Live music in Lisbon

Lisbon is a great place to party in the street, or in a club. But sometimes you yearn for some experiencing live music and seeing artists perform as well as dancing! In recent years, Lisbon has seen its live music scene diversify from the traditional Fado. In this list I have selected three places, with different styles, that offer live music that won’t disappoint.
Badassery

A new favorite of mine in Lisbon is Badassery. It is a unique place to experience live music in person. The stage is missing: the artist is in the middle and everyone gathers around, giving it a very unusual and fun setup.
Badassery see themselves as bringing something new to Lisbon: live music performed by bold artist in an intimate space. They also want to bring back acoustic music to the limelight instead of electronic.
Not only do they excel with the choice of artists and music, but Badassery are also standing out with their Asian food and cocktails. In other words: a must-visit when in Lisbon!

DAMAS
Damas is a restaurant as well as bar located in Graça. But, it is mostly known for its live concerts at night. It is easily missed when passing by during the day, as it looks like a mundane café: however the vibe later in the evening couldn’t be more different.
It has a certain underground feel to it, so mostly locals know about the place. The music on the other hand is very much modern and edgy.

Alface Hall Hostel & Bar

If one evening you find yourself in Bairro Alto, then Alface Hall is worth a stop. The place is a hostel, bar as well as a live music hall. They have DJ-sets as well as bands coming to play. The choice of music is less underground than Damas, and more palatable genre or mainstream.
Alface has also a bar and some snacks, so it is no excuse to not stop by and listen to some music while you’re sipping on your drink.

Titanic sur Mer

The bar that I have been the most to watch live music has been Titanic sur Mer, next to Cais do Sodré.
Their main selling point, and my reason for I keep coming back, is the central location and the view. The bar is located right on the sea and is a 1 min walk from the train and metro station. Also, it is so close to other great restaurants and bars making it an ideal stop during the afternoon before (or even during) the evening.
They have all kinds of music genre playing. They usually have Jazz nights as well as Samba. I have also seen that they have had “lost in the 90s” themed-nights!
Below I shared a video from YouTube from one of their Hip-hop and 90s nights
